We were asked to share the stories, truths, and struggles of the Tangata Whenua of Tauranga, spanning over 150 years. Our task was to support the Iwi bring to life their stories and their voice, aiming to provoke discussion and strengthen the connection between Tangata Whenua and Tauranga City Central.

In telling these stories, we focused on presenting them in a way that brings to light a part of history that has been uncomfortable for many. Using simple animations and visual effects, we aimed for clear and straightforward storytelling. This approach led to a series of narratives that were compiled and made available through a public kiosk, allowing visitors to engage with the stories of Raupatu and the history of Te Papa, and to foster a deeper connection with the land and its original guardians.
